Icon #4 won second place at classicicontest. Fay really is lovely, and she was a great pleasure to make these icons of.

She's also one of those rare actresses I'm personally very fond of. An obscure 1934 British film called The Clairvoyant has a lot to do with that--and her adorable performance as Claude Rains' wife is a big part of why it's my fondest among Rains' movies. With their deeply loving and often delightfully humorous chemistry, theirs is one of my favorite husband-and-wife screen relationships; it almost makes the film as much romantic comedy as dark fantasy. I present this wallpaper as a tribute to the little-known but charming pair they made.

Many years ago, in my early teens, I saw an utterly gorgeous still of Rains and Fay from "The Clairvoyant" in a book. It sparked a decade-long quest to find the movie, which I finally did about five years ago. Now they show it sometimes on TCM, so hopefully a few more people have seen it!
