More Fredric March icons
Aug. 7th, 2005 11:38 pmYes, no one else is interested, but I make them because I like to. Anyway, it's giving me a lot of good practice.
I was often trying for vintage-photo or semi-colorized "lobby card" effects, and some of the results intrigued me. If you take one of these, just comment/credit.

The stills used are from: (1-2) Nothing Sacred; (3) Jealousy; (4) There Goes My Heart; (5) Design for Living; (6-8) The Barretts of Wimpole Street; (9-10) The Eagle and the Hawk.
If you enjoy my work and would like to show appreciation for it, I welcome tips in the form of Dreamwidth Points. (Enter my username "jordannamorgan" as the account you're buying for.)

"Best Years of Our Lives" is pretty much the exact point where he ceased to be a young, staggeringly handsome leading man and became an older, heavier character actor. As a romantic figure in the 1930s, though, he was spectacular.
My tastes being what they are, my personal favorites are two fantasy films: "Death Takes a Holiday" (Death in the guise of a swoon-worthy prince *g*) and "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (the only classic "monster" portrayal ever to win an Oscar). For something more conventional, try "The Dark Angel"--an absolutely beautiful story about hope and love and sacrifice.
