I believe #24 is from a movie called "Ice Follies of 1938" (or some number in the 1930s). The other guy is Lew Ayres. Given my past experience in figure skating, I find the picture incredibly amusing. *g*

I found the picture at Simply Classics--in Ayres' gallery, I think. It's hilarious to see the two of them in their sparkly costumes (and yes, they are quite visibly wearing ice skates).

Awesome set. I took #12 and #13. You have no idea how deliriously happy it makes me to see an image from Torrid Zone. And #28 because I'm a huge Thin Man fan (see name and icon ;).

"Torrid Zone" has got to be one of the most verbally zinging films ever. It's fantastic. (I am, as you can probably tell, a raging James Cagney fan. *g*) And there will undoubtedly be more icons from it, because my supplier of screencaps plans to send me more of them in the near future.

Woo Hoo! 'Torrid Zone' is probably my favorite Cagney movie. I think the presence of Pat O'Brien and Ann Sheridan help push it to the top. It also happens to be the first film of his I ever saw when I stumbled across it at 1:30 in the morning years ago. I'm so thrilled it's finally available on DVD (along with 'The Bride Came C.O.D. which I quite like even if Bette Davis didn't ;).

I'm more of an early Cagney fan, but, if you haven't already, check out 'One, Two, Three', his last film before he came out of retirement two decades later. It's one of the funniest films I've ever seen and has it's share of verbal zingers. :)

Bette Davis is my *least* favorite actress, but "The Bride Came C.O.D." is delightful in spite of her. Especially since I get to see Jimmy drop her in cacti. :D

I'm an early Cagney/1930s movies fan myself, but I do have "One, Two, Three". I must admit that I personally didn't find it to be very funny, although I did enjoy certain injokes (the grapefruit and the "Yankee Doodle Dandy" cuckoo clock). *g*
