My goodness, what a month. *g* Minus all the Cagneyness I've already posted, here is January's icon haul. Fifty-five icons, starring:
Katharine Hepburn [11]; Norma Shearer [8]; Charlie Chaplin [7]; Doris Day [6]; William Powell [6]; Humphrey Bogart/Lauren Bacall [4]; Rudolph Valentino [4]; Sidney Poitier [3]; Greer Garson [3]; Rita Hayworth [2]; and Red Skelton [1].

Description and Comments:
01-11: Katharine Hepburn. These were actually spread out over two challenges. #1 took first place in a "color red" challenge, and #2 won second place in a challenge based on Hepburn herself. Both challenges were at
classicicontest.
12-19: Norma Shearer. I'm exceedingly pleased with most of these. #14 won mod's choice at
classics_stills.
20-26: Charlie Chaplin. #21 won second place at
silver_lims (in a preliminary challenge, not an actual LIMS round).
27-32: Doris Day. #27 and #28 respectively won first and second place awards at
classicicontest.
33-38: William Powell. #35 won second place at
classicicontest. (And I heartily apologize for #38, which is absolutely hideous.)
39-42: Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. In fact, these icons were made as usage examples for a texture set I created. That's why they're very simple, but perhaps they're still of some interest.
43-46: Rudolph Valentino. Not very inspired, but #43 still managed to win a mod's choice award at
silver_stills.
47-49: Sidney Poitier. #47 won second place at
classicicontest.
50-52: Greer Garson. Three more icons made as usage examples for another texture set.
53-54: Rita Hayworth. #50 won third place at
silver_stills.
55: Red Skelton. A prospective icon for the color red challenge that I soundly disliked and rejected--but anyway, there it is.
If you enjoy my work and would like to show appreciation for it, I welcome tips in the form of Dreamwidth Points. (Enter my username "jordannamorgan" as the account you're buying for.)
Greta Garbo fans should have a treat next month, if not sooner--because if I keep up this pace, I'll have to unload my icons more often! And for the X-Men fans, I'll probably go ahead and dispense with a Xavier-Magneto set within a week or so, when the challenge concludes.

Date: 2009-03-16 09:41 am (UTC)I come from retro icons, by the way...
Thanks and will credit.
I especially love the ones I took, 1,14,15,24,22,28.
The Norma Shearer ones are way outside the ballpark, amazing, especially the sparkle one and I am not a sparkly person, really! ;)
Also, the 1st Hepburn is marvelous, and the Chaplin War one is one of the best Chaplins I've seen.
