Description and Comments:
01-15: Joan Crawford. Icon #1 won first place in the Crawford challenge at
classicicontest. Icons 12-15 were demonstrations for my Grunge Mask Texture Set.
16-24: James Cagney. #16, from The Fighting 69th, won third place in the favorite stars challenge at
silver_stills. Other icons feature Ann Sheridan (#18, Torrid Zone); George Raft (#19, Each Dawn I Die); Rosemary Lane (#20, The Oklahoma Kid); and Patricia Ellis (#21, Picture Snatcher).
25-28: Joel McCrea. #25 won third place in the McCrea challenge at
classicicontest. The others are from Wells Fargo, with wife Frances Dee.
29-31: Bette Davis, from Of Human Bondage. #29 won first place in the color white challenge at
classicicontest.
32-34: Claude Rains.
35-37: Danny Kaye.
38-39: Humphrey Bogart, from High Sierra.
40: George Sanders as the Saint. Much to my surprise, this icon won first place in the favorite stars challenge at
silver_stills. *g*
41: Fredric March in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
42: Frank McHugh (looking, as always, like a teddy bear).
43: Allen Jenkins.
44: Carole Lombard.
45: Asta, the canine costar of the Thin Man films.
Furthermore, we have one wallpaper, featuring James Cagney (along with George Raft, Stanley Ridges, Maxie Rosenbloom, and others) in Each Dawn I Die. It was previously posted to
jamescagney.

Date: 2008-05-29 10:44 pm (UTC)(And, um... you never answered my question last time you left a comment at my journal. I just want to know that what I sent got there okay.)
ETA: finally got today's mail--and found the *other* Eddie in it. :D GangsterMovieSquee! *HUGS*

Date: 2008-05-30 02:58 am (UTC)I even kinda forgot I sent you that! Out of sight, out of mind, y'know. :p I was back at the antique mall and we had way too much fun in the book aisle. (I got 20+ Tarzan books for $1 apiece! Someone had just cleared out a collection.) I had the wrong brother along so we couldn't find that gangster book with Cagney on the cover (which didn't break my heart since I suspect it was the dud you recently acquired), but I did find the "other Eddie" book and thought you might enjoy it. The pictures seemed kinda small to me and not super quality, but there sure are a heck of a lot of them! I leafed through and found one Cagney picture and two Frank McHugh pictures (very small) - all focusing on Eddie, of course, so I'm not sure they'll be useful in that respect. At least it got a GangsterMovieSquee! :D

Date: 2008-06-01 01:18 am (UTC)It's really been something new *every day* for a month. If not some weird physical thing with me, it's a bizarre technical glitch of some kind. *facepalm* Never mind big problems, I'd just like one day without any of these little needling snafus so I could clear my head...

Date: 2008-06-05 01:26 am (UTC)These are all lovely, as usual. I've taken each of the Claude Rains and the Bogart icons. (And Asta!)
