The promised Halloween treat and request-fulfillment: forty-eight assorted icons from the original 1941 The Wolf Man!

When the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright... )

I cut a lot more bases, so I may well turn out another batch of Wolf Man icons at a later date--but this will have to do for now, as I have a "Fullmetal Alchemist" Halloween story to try to finish this month. (Insert [community profile] prose_alchemist plug here...)

Have a frightfully good Halloween, all!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Here's a long-overdue batch of icons: a number of my favorite classic stars reading books and newspapers. This includes James Cagney, Claude Rains, Leslie Howard, Fredric March, Peter Cushing, William Powell, Bela Lugosi, and Vincent Price.

The novel is mightier than the script... )
jordannamorgan: Mary Pickford with a bouquet of roses. (Love Roses)

Fifteen icons, starring the lovely Fay Wray; and a wallpaper, featuring Wray and Claude Rains in a splendid little paranormal love story called The Clairvoyant.

For those of you unversed in classics, Fay was King Kong's main squeeze. )

Finally! Some of these were tied up in icontests, and had to wait quite a while for posting. Anyway, thirty-four classic icons, including Veronica Lake [9]; Fredric March [8]; Charles Laughton [7]; Jean Arthur [5]; Boris Karloff as Frankenstein [2]; Humphrey Bogart & Claude Rains [1]; Leslie Howard [1]; and Allen Jenkins [1].

This way to the odd lot... )
jordannamorgan: James Cagney as Eddie Kennedy, "The St. Louis Kid". (St. Louis Kid)

Forty-five classic film icons, starring: Joan Crawford [15]; James Cagney [9]; Joel McCrea [4]; Bette Davis [3]; Claude Rains [3]; Danny Kaye [3]; Humphrey Bogart [2]; George Sanders [1]; Fredric March [1]; Frank McHugh [1]; Allen Jenkins [1]; Carole Lombard [1]; and Asta the terrier [1].

You'd be surprised what I think I can get away with. )

Furthermore, we have one wallpaper, featuring James Cagney (along with George Raft, Stanley Ridges, Maxie Rosenbloom, and others) in Each Dawn I Die. It was previously posted to [livejournal.com profile] jamescagney.

Here's the November classics roundup: thirty-five icons featuring Danny Kaye, Peter Cushing, James Cagney, George Sanders (the Saint), Cyd Charisse, Claude Rains, Marlon Brando, Boris Karloff, Edward G. Robinson, Basil Rathbone, and Rosalind Russell.

Several are personal favorites from my birthday month. )

For the mutant-fan viewers of this journal, a batch of X-Men icons should be forthcoming in less than two weeks. They will mostly feature Cyclops and Storm, the two characters I have lately partaken of challenges for.
jordannamorgan: Claude Rains as Maximus, "The Clairvoyant". (Clairvoyant)

[livejournal.com profile] beloved_tree has inspired me with the idea of making humorous presidential-campaign icons featuring classic film characters. Here are my first ten, from her suggestions and my own ideas. They include James Cagney and friends, Danny Kaye, William Powell/Myrna Loy, and Claude Rains.

Our Vintage Party candidates... )

Does anyone have any suggestions for more icons like these? I'll take both single characters and candidate/running mate duos. (No political party references though, please. I want the icons to be universally appealing.)

To celebrate the Halloween season, here's a big batch of twenty-five classic horror icons. Most are of various films from Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff, along with a cameo "appearance" by The Invisible Man.

Come along, old fly-eater... )
