Just clearing out a number of older icons I've had stashed (which I ought to do soon for some other subjects as well). Twenty-five icons here, featuring Jean/Cyclops, Wolverine/Kayla, Storm, Rogue, and more. The pairing icons were made for a past gift exchange, and a few others have been previously seen here as texture examples.

Assorted characters from the X-Men Movieverse. The Hugh Jackman icons, and eight of Wolverine, have already appeared as usage examples for my texture sets; but here they are among their own kind. *g*

The last time I posted textures, I asked what set I should post next. Ghost Lights II beat out Scrapbook III, so here you go: 26 icon-sized lights in assorted colors. :)

Forty-eight icons from the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. They're from screencaps, but I don't think any of them constitute spoilers. :) The vast majority are Wolverine, of course, but there are a few token icons of Zero, Deadpool, Sabretooth, and Gambit.

How about impaling? )

Personally I couldn't care less about Kayla Silverfox, but the lyrics to The Fray's "You Found Me" seemed to work, so... *shrug* It's pretty anyway!

Who I am and who I'm not and who I want to be... )

I've also cut a large number of bases from Wolverine screencaps, so hopefully there will be icons in the relatively near future. :)

Sometimes, I'm very good. *g* Hugh Jackman fangirls, grab your drool buckets and follow me!

Five wallpapers in all, including three designs and two bonus variations. )

A big batch going all the way back to November! Lots of Wolverine, as well as Beast, Storm, Jean, Xavier, and a few random others.

No witty tagline, because I'm in a hurry... )

I'm going to have a whole lot of Beast icons coming up soon, by the way. :)

Twenty-four X-Men icons, of which about half are Wolverine-centric.

I've hit a stride with my icons; out of the thirty-eight in this selection that were entered in icontests, roughly half of them placed. The award banners are now on display in my trophy case. Including some previously unreleased extras, there are a total of 53 icons here: 40 classics and 13 X-Men. Enjoy!

Classics: 9 Grace Kelly, 6 Humphrey Bogart, 4 Gary Cooper, 4 Olivia De Havilland, 4 My Man Godfrey, 3 James Cagney, 2 Cary Grant, 2 Barry Fitzgerald, 2 Anna May Wong, 1 Fredric March, 1 Danny Kaye, 1 Pat O'Brien, 1 Audrey Hepburn )

X-Men: 7 Wolverine, 2 Beast, 1 Cyclops, 1 Magneto, 1 Storm, 1 Angel )

I've only done a handful of icons so far this month, but I can tell you already that my next assortment will include Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, the subjects of a current icontest challenge. Wish me luck with them! *g*

I have an irrationally powerful desire to see Hugh Jackman in a fedora, and not for the first time, it has resulted in something truly cracked coming out of my PaintShop. This is by no means a flawless manipulation, but I thought some of you might get as much of a chuckle out of it as I have.

It occurred to me that in the future, when I try writing an X-Men/classic movie "remix" fanfiction I have in mind, I may want an appropriate icon for it. The result? Mutant Noir. Wolverine in a trenchcoat and fedora--and lighting up a cigarette, no less. (I tried fedora-ing some other Wolverine and general Hugh pics after that, but none of them turned out as well.)

If anyone would like to see me try doing 1930s versions of any other X-Men characters, ask away. The practice is good for me. *g*

In terms of design, my X-Men archive Animal Magnetism has been completely bare-bones ever since I opened it four years ago. I recently decided it was time to change that--and a few Paintshop sessions later, I have a grand total of four extremely Wolverine-centric headers to choose from. If some of you don't mind looking at a few large image files, I'd appreciate some feedback on which header to use first.

(Poll closed - thanks)

The headers were all made with X3 promotional stills. I might have preferred to use X2 shots, but these images lent themselves extremely well to large graphics.

All three of these wallpapers feature X3 photos. Those who are really spoiler-sensitive might not want to view the second or third ones.

X-Man: I didn't really care about this one while I was making it, but it turned out to be my favorite of the trio. It just worked perfectly.

Work Done: The desktop version of my icon. I feel like I cheated on this one, if only because the context and the backlighting kept me from doing much to it. Enhancements to color and texture are pretty much the only difference from the original photo.

Wild Thing: If nothing else, this one was a huge education in how to eliminate detailed backgrounds in photographs. I'm pleased with it.

Since those two new wallpapers turned out so nicely, I decided to work on improved "remakes" of the old ones I've had at Animal Magnetism. The first results are Wrong House and War Coming.

Saturday morning plus rock music plus Wolverine muscle pics, multiplied by laziness, divided by PaintShop...

Yep, it's the formula for creative procrastination. And since I wasn't in the mood to spend twenty minutes loading my massive browse file of icon resources, this time you get Wolverine desktop wallpapers.

Rebel Hero was the first one, which turned out in a sort of raw, war-movie style that I think is pretty effective. But I'm even more pleased with WolvieWall01, which is kind of a... pastel tortoiseshell techno-decay nouveau. Or something. (It's the technician's viewpoint again; getting rid of the photo's bilious green background was a huge learning experience, and very satisfying.)

If you download them, please do comment. :)
