30 Lauren Bacall Icons

Thirty icons of Lauren Bacall, made as a [livejournal.com profile] fandomaid charity contribution for Hurricane Sandy victims. The requestor kindly offered to share the icons with other fans, so here they are. :)

You know how to whistle, don't you? )

45 Classic Icons - Texture Examples

These icons have appeared as usage examples for my texture sets, but I'm displaying them here in a separate icon post. It includes Grace Kelly [8]; Lauren Bacall [8]; Louise Brooks [8]; Cary Grant [4]; Lana Turner [4]; Fredric March [4]; Joan Blondell [3]; Olivia de Havilland [3]; and Gene Tierney [3].

Too sleepy for a humorous cutline... )

Scrapbook II Icon Textures

A sequel to my original Scrapbook texture set, featuring thirty icon-sized decorative paper textures.

I've already created a third Scrapbook texture set, which is by far the best yet--so if you like this one, keep watching for Scrapbook III to be posted!

12 Bogart and Bacall icons

Twelve icons: three Lauren Bacall, seven Humphrey Bogart, and two of them together.

22 Classic Icons

It's been a while! However, I have still been making icons, albeit at a somewhat slower pace than a few months ago. I now have an accumulation of twenty-two classic movie icons (to be followed by an equal number of X-Men icons).

Here are the classics, starring: Merle Oberon [7]; Harold Lloyd [6]; Lauren Bacall [4]; Jane Wyman [2]; Basil Rathbone [1]; Jean Harlow [1]; and Joan Blondell [1].

Exotic beauties... and Harold. And Sherlock Holmes. )

ScratchGrunge II Icon Textures

Presenting a sequel to my original and hugely successful ScratchGrunge textures. In this set there are sixty-six icon-sized textures in shades of gray grunge and filmscratch, with a few grungy border elements as well.

20 Bogart/Bacall Icons

I've been producing so many icons lately that you're going to see at least a few batches in the near future. To start with, here's a little post-Valentine candy featuring Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart. There are five icons of each of them separately, and ten of them together.

The beauty and the beast... sorry, couldn't resist. )

January Classic Icons

My goodness, what a month. *g* Minus all the Cagneyness I've already posted, here is January's icon haul. Fifty-five icons, starring:

Katharine Hepburn [11]; Norma Shearer [8]; Charlie Chaplin [7]; Doris Day [6]; William Powell [6]; Humphrey Bogart/Lauren Bacall [4]; Rudolph Valentino [4]; Sidney Poitier [3]; Greer Garson [3]; Rita Hayworth [2]; and Red Skelton [1].

Oh, we're going to talk about me, are we? Goody. )

Greta Garbo fans should have a treat next month, if not sooner--because if I keep up this pace, I'll have to unload my icons more often! And for the X-Men fans, I'll probably go ahead and dispense with a Xavier-Magneto set within a week or so, when the challenge concludes.

May icon grab bag

Here we have forty icons--thirty classic stars and ten X-Men. Most of them were made for icontests, although not all were entered. There are a few award winners here that I'm reasonably proud of. *g*

Standard rules: please credit, comment, yada yada.

The Classics: Cagney, Bogart, Stewart, Howard, Bogart/Bacall, March/Shearer, Powell/Loy )

The X-Men: Deathstryke, Jean/Scott, Logan, Storm, Jubilee )

Challenge icon grab bag for February

On the last Sunday of every month, I will be posting the month's roundup of challenge icons, along with "challenge rejects" that I made for icontests but chose not to submit (and perhaps any other loose icons I have on hand). Most of them will probably be classic film-related in the foreseeable future, but just about anything might turn up.

Since this is the first such post, all of the icons I've made for [livejournal.com profile] classicicontest are here, as well as some recent strays that I missed in my backposting. But amidst all of the old news (at least for some of you), there are a few icons here that have never been displayed before.

25 icons: James Cagney, Danny Kaye, Frank McHugh, and many more )

More Lauren Bacall icons

Ten icons, using up the bases I made last time around. I didn't realize until I was finished that I'd made this batch rather monochromatic; with one exception, they're all in a blue-purple-red range. In spite of that, I think some of these are as good as anything I've ever done.

Lauren is far too photogenic to not enjoy iconizing. )

I must thank [livejournal.com profile] nuranar for her suggestion. I've had a brilliant time making these icons.

Wallpapers: Lauren Bacall

I had some ideas that I just couldn't work out in an icon-sized form, so naturally, I used my larger canvas. Here are two wallpapers featuring Lauren Bacall.

Tigress: While gathering photos at Simply Classics, I found a picture of Bacall with a tiger-print background, immediately followed by one in which she had a tiger-print blouse. I immediately knew I wanted to use them together. I didn't have any success combining them in an icon, so here they are as a wallpaper.

Asian Tapestry: That dress just makes me think Oriental for some reason, and I wanted to use those Japanese art accents (which were made by [livejournal.com profile] sugarplumkitten, by the way). I'm very pleased with this piece.

Icons: Frank McHugh and Lauren Bacall

[livejournal.com profile] beloved_tree and [livejournal.com profile] nuranar gave me an excuse for a Saturday morning icon binge, having respectively prompted me to do Frank McHugh and Lauren Bacall. Here you go, girls; there are eight of each. Plus one bonus icon, of which I'm rather interested to see who claims it. *g*

The Mutt and the vixen )

Owing to the wealth of lovely Bacall photos at Simply Classics, I actually made a dozen more bases than I used, so there should be more icons of her in the future.

Two Humphrey Bogart wallpapers

Phillip Marlowe is [livejournal.com profile] beloved_tree's fault. (Well, she and the background texture I found that screamed "cynoptimism"--although for originality's sake, I mangled that beyond all recognition.) I sincerely hope my use of two L's in the first name is correct. I'm somewhat annoyed that the edges didn't turn out more crisp, but there it is.

I could blame Love Story on Aspen too, but it also comes from the fact that Bogart/Bacall is the one real-life celebrity couple I genuinely like. It wasn't nearly as simple as it might look, but I'm very happy with the end result.
